Secrets of the Bayeux Tapestry
I worked with Peepshow Studio on the animated narrative sequences for the BBC documentary Secrets of the Bayeux Tapestry: Inside the Museum, directed by Joe Myerscough and produced by Blast! Films.
Working alongside Animation Director Pete Mellor, I helped with look development and compositing, bringing together hand-painted frame-by-frame animation with 2D, 2.5D and 3D elements to create something atmospheric, tactile and hand-crafted.
The approach varied from sequence to sequence, using colour, texture, camera mapping, 3D elements and animation reference to help bring everything together while retaining the handmade quality of the finished image.
